Establishment of Salzburger Aluminium by AIAG and Schweizerische Metallurgische Gesellschaft (later Alusuisse) and construction of the third European aluminium electrolysis plant at the Lend site.
1992
Management buy-out by Dipl.Ing. Josef Wöhrer and family as well as other members of the management at that time
1993
Foundation of Alutech GmbH, expansion of product portfolio to aluminium fuel tanks and aluminium compressed air tanks
2001
Acquisition of companies in the Netherlands, France and Sweden and establishment of SAG Alutech Nederland B.V., SAG France SAS and SAG Fueltech Sweden AB.
2008
Reorganisation of the group structure: SAG becomes a holding company, establishment of the SAG Motion Group for the commercial vehicle, automotive, rail and aviation sectors. Establishment of the SAG Materials Group for metallurgical research and smelting production and sales activities. Acquisition of 60% of the Mexican company SAG Mecasa.

Implementation of a successful restructuring process
2012
Founding of SAG Brasil Ltda, establishment of a production facility in Jaguariuna (Sao Paolo) Founding of SAG Business Improvement GmbH as a shared service unit
2014
Commissioning of the production facility SAG Brasil. Sale of the Ranshofen site for strategic reasons.
2016
Foundation of the SAG Spain production plant in Alcala de Henares, Madrid (managed by SAG France). Sale of Aluminium Lend GmbH

100% takeover of the Mexican companies SAG Mecasa S.A. de C.V. and Mecalaser S.A. de C.V.

Renaming of the two Mexican sites in Monterrey and Tlalnepantla to SAG México

10 branches, 1.300 employees, 220 million group sales, start of a multi-year development project for a tank solution for liquid hydrogen

Opening of sales offices in Canada and USA, expansion and relocation SAG Slovakia
